Resumen
The specimens we studied are very similar to Polystoma nearticum (Paul, 1938) found in the urinary bladder of Hyla of North America, but differ from it in the following characters:
Larger body and therefore larger organs; 8 genital hooks or spines; the intestine penetrates the posterior adhesive disc forming 4 perfectly definite anastomosed lobulli; the excretory vesicles are lateral and bifurcated and located at the anterior edge of the pharynx; their double ducts, after uniting, become internal and reach the pharynx in its middle part. The uterus has always one single egg; there are larval hooks in the adhesive disc and the larger hooks may be entire or with one or two basal grooves.
Taking into consideration E. W. Price's opinion that the variability of these characters is sufficient reason for the establishment of a new species, we may, therefore, establish a new one with the specimens obtained from Hyla baudinii.
