Resumen

SUMMARY.
We describe again the species Hamatospiculum insignis (1866) Skrjabin
1916, which we found (five females and eight males in the subepithelial
connective tissue of the neck of an owl . Speotyto cunicularia hypogaea. We
also clear some facts and revise the species of this genus.
Genus Hamatospiculum should be definitively placed in the sub-family
Dicheilonematinae and not in the sub-family Filariinae, because of the presence
of cuticular epaulette-like structure of the anterior end.
Thes pecies Hamatospiculum brasilianum, Hamatospiculnm quadridens
and Paramatospiculum nodulosum should be Hamatospiculum insignis, H. fo.
veatum and H. nodulosum.
