Resumen
In the present paper the redescription of Distomum tubiporum Braun, 1900, is given, creating the new genus Maxbraunium for this species whose principal characters are: ovoid body; thick cuticle all covered by spines; large oral sucker, subterminal and ventral; acetabulum as large as the oral sucker, musculous and located at the middle of the body; pharynx present; oesophagus missing; wide intestinal caeca extending beyond the posterior border of the testicles; cirrus pouch largo, located between the pharynx and the acetabulum; sexual pore opening at the left ventral side; ovoid testicles, post-acetabular and symetrical; ovary at the right at the level of the acetabulum; bursa seminalis, post-acetabular, right or left; Mehlis gland and Laurer's canal present; uterus confined to the post-testicular region, principally, its ascending branch passing forwards between the left testicle, the bursa and the acetabulum. Dorsal, lateral vitellaria, extending from the anterior border of the cirrus pouch to the limit of the testicles. Dark yellow operculated eggs.
