Resumen
We describe a new species of Oxyspirura, Oxyspirura (Yorkeispirura) octopapillata, and reclassify Mexican species of this genus formerly treated.
According to Skrjabin's modern classification of genus Oxyspirura in 1931, enlarged by Cram in 1937, there are only three species grouped in subgenus Yorkeispirura: Oxyspirura (Y.) tanasijtchuki (Skrjabin, 1916), O. (Y.) tsingchengensis (Hsá¼, 1933) and O. (Y.) mansoni (Cobbold, 1879) Skrjabin, 1931.
The characters in which our recently made species differs from the other three species are: number of preanal and postanal papillae, size of spicules and eggs.
