This study is the first one of a serial investigations on Onchocerciasis in Mexico and Guatemala under the Direction of the Panamerican Sanitary Office.
The authors describe a new species of trematode from the gall bladder of Bufo marinus and redescribe two species of Rhopalias found in the small intestine of a apossum. Both species, one from North America and the other from South America were found in a mammal from Chiapas (Mexico). This finding is important because it shows the emigration of the parasites through their host.
