Resumen

The present work is the study of a yeast found in a dermatosis of human skin and which was identified as Cryptococcus salmoneus, studied and classified in 1907, by Sartory.
We determined the macroscopical characters of the growth in several liquid and solid cultures.
We also observed large colonies in the same cultures, in Petri dishes and Petroff dishes.
The cells are especially spherical, have heavy walls, granular protoplasm, and globules of oil, and reach dimensions of 6 to 8 microns.
The maximum temperature of germination is between 39° and 40° C., the optimun between 22° and 25° C. , and the minimum between 3° and 5° C.
They do not ferment any of the sugars, inverte saccharose only slightly and have not pathogenic role.
