DEMETRIO SOKOLOFF

Resumen

Confirming the observations of Francé the author describes ocelli-like structures in three representatives of Euglenoidina, Lepcocinclis texta, Leptocinclis teres and in a species of Euglena closely resembling Euglena geniculata. Comparing these stigmata provided with lenses with ocelli of Pouchetiidae (Dinoflagellata), he shows the similarity of both organoids.
Indicating the relation of stigmata to the inner parts of the locomotor apparatus of Euglena described by Wager he discusses their function.
